New Pictures of us

A few weeks before Steve and I were married, we had engagement pictures taken. I must admit, the thought of having pictures taken didn't exactly thrill me, but that was something we had to do and I was going to go through with it whether I liked it or not. So, we had the pictures done, invitations sent, wedding came and went and finally waiting to have my wedding photos handed to me in one of those fancy books. 4 years later, we are still waiting. We actually got the pictures from the photographer, if that is what you want to call her. My pictures are sitting over on the shelf waiting for me to finish scrapbooking them. I know SO sad! SOOOO

A few months ago, I joined facebook. I mainly joined because one of my friends said come on you'll love it!! Well, come to find out, I am so addicted and I have found so many friends from high school, youth group, church from a very long time ago and friends from the present. I am thrilled. What's all that have to do with pictures??

I found a friend from high school on Facebook who is a photographer now in Kinston, NC. her work, well, see for yourself, it is AMAZING!! She believes in adding color to photos, not just some bland colors. And her work is different and something that I would want to do if I were a photographer. So hubby and I are traveling about 5 hours on the 23rd to have her do our pictures on the 24th. I've had people say, but you don't have kids, you aren't getting married, no dog, what? why are you having pictures done?? WEll, I don't owe an explanation, but I will give one. Steve and I have been through so much in our 4 years of being married, I feel that we OWE it to ourselves to have a Fresh start. We were new home owners, then were married, then there was the small issue of infertility, then surgery after surgery for me, then Steve losing his job, then we moved to NC, then more surgery. We are tired and need a new beginning and I feel that the Lord has sent us here to North Carolina for just that reason, a New Beginning:)
